More than a race
May 29, 2016The beach, bathing suits and branding
July 25, 2016It’s summer in Kentucky, and it seems temperatures are not the only thing heating up this season. Wiser Strategies has been busy working for clients and attending events across Kentucky, and we absolutely love it. I often joke that if I wasn’t busy, I would probably pull my hair out.
Recently, I spent the day with over 800 bright and driven high and middle school students on Eastern Kentucky University’s campus. Bluegrass Tomorrow, an organization that seeks to enhance the quality of life in the Bluegrass Region by facilitating partnerships among public, private, and corporate citizens, hosted The Idea Festival Youth Day and invited Wiser Strategies to be an exhibit sponsor for their Career Maker Faire. Students who were interested in arts and communication stopped by to learn more about marketing and the career opportunities in our field. It was refreshing to see so many young students already thinking and planning for their futures.
I also traveled to my alma mater, The University of Louisville, to listen to Dr. Karen Freberg’s social media class’ final semester presentations. Their “clients” included Vibrant Nation and Louisville Bats AAA baseball team. Four groups presented, each with unique and insightful recommendations. Here are some of the highlights, which are useful reminders to all of us employing social media:
Consistent Voice: There may be a number of individuals working on your social media sites, but make sure you have a guide for the brand’s voice and stay consistent with your message.
Engaging Interactive Posts: Find ways to make your brand stand out and be more interactive. This could mean creating video blogs, creating Facebook or Twitter polls, or asking your users to share live event posts.
SnapChat: SnapChat is the up and coming new platform that brands need to have a presence on. This platform is great for live events to show your followers and users a different perspective.
Use area influencers: One of the best and most inviting ways to cultivate new relationships is to partner with area influencers. Don’t be afraid to piggyback off their followers. This could mean inviting them to your venue and hosting them for the day. You can simply turn them loose and ask them to share their experiences.
We are always looking for ways to share our knowledge and gather tips from others….it’s just what we do!
