Wiser Strategies is proud to celebrate President Nancy Wiser, APR, Fellow PRSA, as the first recipient of the Tom L. Preston Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by the Public Relations Society of America’s Thoroughbred Chapter.
The award was presented on September 24, 2026, in Lexington, Kentucky, recognizing Nancy’s distinguished career, contributions to the public relations profession and lasting impact on the community.
A Career Built on Leadership and Service
Since beginning her public relations career in 1982, Nancy has served as a strategic counselor, entrepreneur, educator and mentor. Her work has helped organizations across numerous industries navigate complex issues, strengthen relationships and communicate effectively.
Nancy founded Wiser Strategies in 2011, building on decades of experience in public relations and strategic communication. Beyond her work with clients, she has contributed to the profession through teaching, mentoring and leadership within PRSA at the local, district and national levels.
Her professional recognitions include membership in the PRSA College of Fellows, induction into the PRSA Thoroughbred Chapter Hall of Fame and the PRSA East Central District Platinum Award.
An Award with Special Meaning
The Tom L. Preston Lifetime Achievement Award honors the legacy of a pioneering Kentucky public relations professional whose influence extended across the industry.
For Nancy, the recognition carries particular significance. From 1992 to 2000, she served as vice president of The Preston Group, the firm founded by Tom Preston.
Reflecting on his influence, Nancy credited Preston with helping shape her understanding of public relations as a profession grounded in research, integrity and respect.
Being selected as the first recipient of an award bearing his name is a meaningful recognition of both her accomplishments and the professional relationship that helped shape her career.
