April 27, 2022When you were little and people asked you what you thought the future was going to look like, what picture came to mind? Robots checking you out at the grocery store, everyone wearing silver, flying cars… the list of futuristic imagery goes on.
While we are not yet at the flying car point in civilization, we do have innovative and futuristic elements in our world today. For example, Tesla’s that can drive themselves, cars that charge rather than using gas, robots that have the ability to create heavy machinery and run factories, and more.
The world is becoming more artificial and more intelligent, and, in turn, artificial intelligence is starting to seep into all facets of societal life, including marketing.
However, marketing with AI may not look exactly how you are picturing it. Companies are now using artificial intelligence for demographic gathering and data analysis. This can also include a range of things from scheduling messaging to even powering copy for posts and websites.
In a study done in 2021, it was found that 40% of companies in the US are prioritizing AI technology for success in the marketing and sales departments specifically, more than any other department in said companies.
One company, in particular, is taking advantage of AI in a unique and noteworthy way. Netflix, which has approximately 221 million subscribers worldwide, uses AI to power its recommendation engine. Personally, I have watched some of my favorite shows and movies on the Netflix platform because they were recommended to me. Clearly, the technology is working.
Using AI to power different engines and platforms can be helpful to all sorts of companies, especially from a marketing standpoint. If you could use technology to create different social posts and website information that was sure to work on your target audience, wouldn’t you want to take advantage of it?
Some ways that we believe Artificial Intelligence will be used in marketing in the near future are:
- Data tracking
- Concept planning
- Message development
- Strategic communication
- Crisis Management
While we may still be a long way off from flying cars and defying gravity like we thought we would when we were kids, the world is changing in ways that can help further the marketing field to large degrees. To learn more about Artificial Intelligence in marketing, reach out to us today!
